- Wine in Australia grew by 1% in volume in 2015, despite the continued decline of alcohol consumption in the country.

- Total current value growth, however, significantly outperformed volume growth, with an increase of 5%.

- A key driver behind this is consumers are drinking less but drinking better, trading up to premium offerings, as seen by the strong growth in celebratory drinks, including champagne, which grew by 12% in value.
